Charity News – January 2014
Dear IWCB members,
A new year starts and the charity committee is ready to recommence its work, looking forward to reviewing applications and helping those less fortunate in our host country.
During 2013, the IWCB approved 28 out of 49 applications received and supported 10 types of institution:
- 1 hospital
- 1 organization that helps the homeless
- 2 crisis centers
- 2 organizations that assist minorities
- 2 schools
- 2 sheltered workshops
- 2 associations related to children (one foster home, one family center)
- 5 institutions related to the elderly
- 7 institutions that assist the mentally/physically disabled
Total amount donated in 2013: 81,569.85 Euros
The charity committee will meet during the second part of January to define the strategy for 2014 and set up the dates for our meetings throughout the year.
All IWCB members are welcome to attend the charity meetings as observers. If you would like to join us please contact us at charity@iwc.sk a week before the meeting so that a bigger meeting room can be booked if needed.
